Overview:
On May 16, 2015, Ridglea Christian Church is hosting a 5K race called the RCC 5C5K that is open to the community. All ages and both runners and walkers are encouraged to participate!
The race will be a Z Boaz Park, 3200 Lackland Rd, Fort Worth..
- Traditional Timed 5K: This run is for "serious" runners who do not want to stop for the 5-course meal!
- 5Course5K: Eat and run! This run/walk will feature small samples of various menu items at each kilometer donated by our generous food sponsors.
- 5-Course 5K Team: Grab a team of 5 and each run/walk 1 kilometer or do the 5C5K together!
What is this race benefiting?
The 5C5K this year benefits Tarrant Area Food Bank and The Learning Garden – a teaching garden to facilitate opportunities to alleviate hunger-related issues in our community.
Ridglea Christian Church hopes to raise $5,000 for TAFB from this event. Please consider making an additional donation to this worthy cause! Information concerning additional donations is provided on the registration form.
Race will be timed by Cox Racing Services
Registation Options/Fees:
There are three events to choose from this year:
- Traditional Timed 5K for $25 per person ($30 after 4/25)
- Five Course 5K – individuals complete a 5 course meal through five stops during the race for $35 per person ($40 after 4/25)
- Five Course 5K Team – a team of five people where each person completes a course and a leg of the 5K for the $100 per team ($20/person)
All those pre-registered prior to race day will receive a 5C5K T-shirt. To be guaranteed the shirt of your preferred size, you must register by May1st.
*BONUS if you sign up for the individual Five Course 5K race, you can run the traditional race for FREE! Local chefs and restaurants will provide the 5 course meals.
Prizes: There will be prizes for top finishers in all age categories for the Traditional Timed 5K Race timing is done by Cox Racing Services.
Packet Pick-up: Packet pickup is on May 15 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Ridglea Christian Church at 6720 West Elizabeth Ln. You can also pick up your packet on Race Day at the Race Site. There will be race day registrations.
Race Day Schedule:
- 8:00 AM - Race Day Packet Pickup and Registration
- 9:30 AM - Traditional 5K Race Starts
- 10:15 AM - Awards Ceremony
- 10:30 AM - Five Course 5K Begins
- 11:30 AM - Please join us after the races for awards, celebration, music, food, and FUN for all ages.
There is a church, corporate team, and school team challenge, where the church, corporation, and school with the most participants wins a trophy! Enter your organization's name when registering.

Description of the Five-Course 5K:
At each kilometer, a local restaurant sets up a table with samples of one of the courses of a five-course meal. Kilometer 1 - appetizer, kilometer 2 - salad, kilometer 3 - main dish, kilometer 4 - drink, kilometer 5 - dessert. In addition to sampling some exquisite cuisine, participants receive coupons, prizes, and the satisfaction of helping a good cause! Stuff your face, run the race!
